Trump Unleashes Late-Night Rant, Calls New York Times a “Serious Threat to National Security”

President Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on The New York Times late at night, accusing the newspaper of threatening national security.

Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the paper was spreading false and misleading stories. He offered no evidence to support the claim.

“The Failing New York Times, and their lies and purposeful misrepresentations, is a serious threat to the National Security of our Nation,” he wrote.

He went even further in the same post.

“Their Radical Left, Unhinged Behavior, writing FAKE Articles and Opinions in a never ending way, must be dealt with and stopped. THEY ARE A TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! Thank you for you attention to this matter. PRESIDENT DJT”.

Trump did not say which article triggered the outburst.

Still, the attack fits a familiar pattern. The president has repeatedly lashed out at The Times, its reporters, and the media at large throughout his time in office.

Earlier this month, Trump accused the newspaper of acting in a “seditious, perhaps even treasonous” manner after it published an opinion piece questioning his health.

The article was written by opinion columnist Frank Bruni, who noted that Trump’s approval ratings had slipped and raised concerns about his energy levels.

In response, Trump again took to social media.

“After all of the work I have done with Medical Exams, Cognitive Exams, and everything else, I actually believe it’s seditious, perhaps even treasonous, for The New York Times, and others, to consistently do FAKE reports in order to libel and demean ‘THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,’” he wrote.

Trump has also singled out individual journalists.

In November, he attacked veteran White House reporter Katie Rogers, claiming she was “assigned to only write bad things” about him. He also called her “a third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out.”

He followed that criticism with another post defending his health.

“There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST (“That was aced”) JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now,” Trump added.

The remarks prompted a firm response from The New York Times.

“The Times’s reporting is accurate and built on first hand reporting of the facts. Name-calling and personal insults don’t change that, nor will our journalists hesitate to cover this administration in the face of intimidation tactics like this,” the paper said in a statement.

Trump’s attacks have not stopped there.

In recent weeks, he has directed insults at several female reporters, calling them “stupid” and “incapable.” In one incident that drew widespread backlash, he told Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey to be “quiet piggy.”

Despite repeated criticism, The New York Times continues to be one of the president’s most frequent targets.
