President Donald Trump has come up with a new idea to rename the Republican Partyβand even his own son seems confused.
On Wednesday, the 79-year-old posted on Truth Social: βThere is a new word for a TRUMP REPUBLICAN,β before asking his followers which version they preferred. βIt is, TEPUBLICAN??? Or, TPUBLICAN???β
The most obvious choice, βTrumpublican,β didnβt get a mention. His son quickly stepped in on X, writing, βShouldnβt it really be Trumplican???β and pinned the post to the top of his profile, where it racked up hundreds of thousands of views in just an hour.

Itβs rare for him to speak up like this, and the timing followed his recent trip to India, where he attended a lavish wedding and brought his girlfriend, Mar-a-Lago socialite Bettina Anderson, along.
The unusual new name caused a stir online. Some supporters seemed to like it. MAGA influencer Benny Johnson wrote on X: βINCOMING: New word for a βTRUMP REPUBLICAN,β It is TEPUBLICAN??? or TPUBLICAN???β

Others couldnβt help but poke fun. Independent journalist Adam Cochran wrote on X: βIβm sorry β you think this guy DIDNβT have a stroke? Come on! Grandpaβs brain is pudding!β

Some people online also noted the spelling and grammar mistakes in Trumpβs posts, like confusing βoneβ with βwon,β while bragging about acing a cognitive test.

Thereβs more than just wordplay at issue. The pronunciation of βTPUBLICANβ is tricky. Experts call it a βvoiceless labial-alveolar plosive,β which is a mouthfulβand almost literally.
To say it correctly, people would need to press their lips together, place the tongue behind the teeth, block airflow through the nose, and push air outward without using their voice. Apparently, this sound is normally heard only in remote places like the North Caucasus, rural parts of Ghana, or a small island off Papua New Guinea.
Trump also claimed that βalmost everyoneβ is a TRUMP REPUBLICAN, despite his approval rating hovering around 38%. Analysts say this shows the gap between the presidentβs words and how the public sees him, especially as he deals with multiple ongoing controversies and challenges within the party.
Meanwhile, questions about Trumpβs health continue. Observers have noticed him dozing off during events, stumbling over words, or forgetting details.
Over the summer, he was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which can cause swollen ankles and bruised hands. White House doctor Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella said Trumpβs recent follow-up exam was part of routine checks and described him as in βexceptional health.β Details about advanced medical imaging tests were not shared.
Trump defended his energy and health on Truth Social, boasting about a recent physical exam and a cognitive test that he said he βaced.β βThere will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now!β he wrote.
