Billie Eilish ignited a national uproar after calling out Elon Musk in a blunt message that spread across the internet within minutes. βF***ing Pathetic P***y B***h,β she wrote, a line that hit just as analysts project Musk may become the first trillionaire.
Her criticism came soon after she pledged $11.5 million from her recent tour to groups working on food equity, climate action and carbon reduction. The pledge was announced on October 29, 2025 at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards, where Stephen Colbert introduced the moment onstage. It marked one of the most public commitments made by any major artist this year.
That pledge followed her speech at the same event where she told a room of billionaires, βI love you all, but there are a few people here with a lot more money than me,β and asked, βIf youβre a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? Not everyone agreed. Some argued that she misunderstands the way assets and markets work. One popular post claimed that if Musk sold off his wealth to solve hunger, the value of those assets would crash and everyday workers would pay the price. Another said giving away large amounts of money would trigger inflation rather than fix hunger, adding that she should stay focused on music.
She obviously doesn't understand economics whatsoever. If he sold all of his assets and gave it all away to "end world hunger", two things would happen:
1) The assets in question would tank, people would lose money, and everyday people working 9-5 jobs would lose their jobs.

Defenders of Musk pointed to a tweet on October 31, 2021, in which he challenged the World Food Program: βIf WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it.β They also note his billions in donations through the Musk Foundation to science, education and environmental causes. Critics counter that some gifts went to groups tied to his companies and that the foundation has faced scrutiny for not meeting required annual minimum giving levels.
