Could Kenyaβs politics get any more interesting? Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has just fired a strong reply to Deputy President Kithure Kindikiβs recent warnings. Speaking from the USA on Sunday, August 10, 2025, Gachagua told Kindiki to stop giving threats and start taking real action.
βI have seen that person called Soprano issuing a lot of threats every day. Oh, mimi ni fire, mimi ni noma,β Gachagua said.
He was making fun of Kindikiβs tough talk. But Gachagua did not stop there. He shared some wise words from the famous Nigerian writer Wole Soyinka.
βIn one of his greatest works, he says a tiger does not declare its tigritude, its pounces. So if you are what you say you are, act; donβt keep on threatening,β Gachagua told the Deputy President.
That means if you are strong, show it by action, not just by talking. Gachagua made it clear that he is not afraid of threats.
βA tiger pounces, so please spare those threats to other characters. Riggy G is beyond threats, and you know it,β he said.
He also said something very serious but simple to understand.
βWe must speak for the people of Kenya because if we donβt, there will be no country. I cannot be intimidated; the Gen Zs cannot be intimidated. We will speak for the people of Kenya until we get this regime out and get one that is responsive to the needs of the people of Kenya and respects human rights.β
These words came only one day after Kindiki spoke strongly against Gachagua. On Saturday, August 9, 2025, during a public event in Keiyo South, Kindiki warned Gachagua to stop making wild claims about security.
βIf their agenda is insults, let them continue with insults, but they should not use that space to compromise national security,β Kindiki said in Kiswahili.
He reminded everyone that Kenya has faced serious problems for many years. Terrorism, cattle rustling, and other crimes have caused much pain. These are not things to joke about or use for political fights. They are real dangers.
The fight between these two leaders started when Gachagua made shocking claims outside Kenya. He said President William Ruto met with Al-Shabaab leaders during a trip to Mandera County. This claim shocked many people and created more tension in Kenyan politics.
Kindiki responded firmly. He said that anyone who says they have information about terrorists or criminals must help the police and security officers.
βThey must help us investigate and protect Kenya. Otherwise, they should face legal action,β Kindiki warned.
Kenya has big problems to fix. Leadership, security, and trust are all very important and very fragile. Gachaguaβs βtigerβ message is strong and confident. But Kindikiβs warning reminds everyone that national security is serious and must not be used for threats or drama.
Who will win this fight? The quiet tiger that acts or the man who calls for proof and peace? Only time will tell. But Kenyans hope for truth, peace, and good leaders.
